Regular babysitting: 4 ways to find out more about your babysitter

Take the time to learn more about her

As time goes by, the nanny becomes an almost indispensable part of the household. That's why you should take the time to get to know her. Try to get home from work early so you can talk to her. Don't forget that she must have spent quite a day with your little one so if you see that she is not receptive the first time, don't hesitate to try again. Also, preferably don't try to start a discussion when the nanny is busy. The best time is when the child is sleeping or at the end of the day.

Regular babysitting: become friends (on Facebook!)

Surely, you have already typed the name of your baby sitter in the search bar Facebook (or even Google's). However, what we suggest is even better. After a few weeks of work, feel free to send her a friend request on Facebook. This will allow you to see what your nanny is doing outside of work hours. But also to discover her real face, and this, with her consent.

Ask the principal for his opinion!

After all, the best person to give feedback on the nanny, age permitting, is your child! To start the discussion, you can ask him what activities they do together. And to finish, clearly ask him what he thinks of her.

The person you will or have recruited will be responsible for your child and your home. In other words, this is no small task! So, in order to trust him/her, you will have to make sure that he/she will live up to your expectations. Take the time to ask for references from her former parents-employers or even her roommate.
